Vampire: the Eternal Struggle (or VTES for short) is a multi-player collectable card game based on the award-winning Vampire: the Masquerade role playing game in which players take on the role of ancient vampires known as a Methuselahs. Considered mere legend by many, Methuselahs rule everything from the shadows, engaging in a eons-long Machiavellian conflict that encompasses political, social, and even physical warfare. The struggle is won or lost based on the actions taken by your minions – younger vampires who unknowingly do your bidding. In this way, the game can allow for deep and immersive storytelling as your minions purchase equipment, hire retainers, even suggest legislative changes to vampiric society, all in the service of your dark plots.

Version 1.0

This is the first version of an unofficial fan made Vassal module for "Vampire: The Eternal Struggle".

This Module includes all V:TES Cards released up to January 2024.

Features:

• General:
  • Reporting each action done by a Methuselah in the Chat. This should enable a play by email
  • Pinging a card will show the Card as Image and Name in the Chat
  • Edge can be burned via right click this will send the edge back to the Main Board.
  • Click on a Blood counter will remove the Blood
  • Click on a Crypt Card will flip it
  • Crypt cards are shown to its owner even when flipped
• Library Card right click context menu:
  • Play card to Methuselah Board
  • Play card face down to Methuselah Board
  • Lock/Unlock
  • Return a card to the Methuselah Library (Top and Bottom)
  • Burn a card (send to Ash Heap)
  • Remove a card from game
  • Send the card to another Methuselah
  • Notes can be added to a card (eg +1 intercept) and Shown underneath the card (Hovering the card will always show the Notes)
  • Owner can be added to a card (eg Methuselah 1) and Shown above the card (Hovering the card will always show the Owner)
  • Ping a card in the Chat. This will display the name and the Card image itself
  • Flip the card. Afterwards the owner of the card can peek (look at the card without showing the other players) at the card by clicking "Peek". loosing the focus (clicking elsewhere) will mask/unpeek the card again.
• Crypt Card right click context menu:
  • same as Library card
  • Take action will announce a certain action in the chat eg "Adhiambo bleeds"
• Main Menu:
  • A click on the Ankh Symbol gives you access to all components needed to play
    • Crypt/Library cards are alphabetically sorted in Alphabetic Tabs
  • Each Methuselah has it own Menu icon for:
    • Methuselah Board
    • Methuselah Hand
    • Four Windows to Show Hand/Library Deck/Crypt Deck and Ash Heap
  • Notes Window:
    • Public Information eg reminder for certain cards
    • Private Information eg personal information only
    • Delayed Information eg Malkavian Game/Malkavian Prank
  • VP Tracker for each player and a report function to report all current VP's

• Methuselah Board:
  • Library/Crypt Decks can be saved and loaded
  • Library/Crypt Deck can be shown to each or all Methuselah. A click on the Icon will ask for the number of Cards (Top) to show and the Methuselah/s. Afterwards all shown cards can be seen in the "Show Library/Crypt" Window. This can be opened by every Methuselah by clicking on the Menu for Icon in the Main Menu
  • Votes can be called
  • Shuffle Crypt/Library there is no auto shuffle so this has to be done manually.
  • Gain the Edge Menu Button will retrieve the edge
  • Unlock all cards
  • Various Chat options to announce Turn/Actions/Combat and Ping other Methuselahs
  • Gain Blood Pool
  • Library/Crypt Deck right click menu:
    • Top card can be played face down
    • Bottom card can be drawn
    • X cards can be drawn from top of the deck
    • certain card can be drawn from deck
• Methuselah Hand:
  • Methuselah Hand be shown to each or all Methuselah. A click on the Icon will ask for the number of Cards (Hand Cards from left to right from top to bottom) to show and the Methuselah/s. Afterwards all shown cards can be seen in the "Show Hand" Window. This can be opened by every Methuselah by clicking on the Menu for Icon in the Main Menu
  • A random Hand card can be discarded
  • A random Hand card can be shown to all or certain Methuselah's. This will be written in the Hand Notes.
  • Click on the Draw Card will draw the top of the Library Deck into the Hand face up

Pending:

• add the most recent cards
• rename all the cards to be better readable
