I've been interested in boardgames for a while after being introduced to Avalon Hill's Up Front by a friend at work - Eric Topp. He taught me to play and it remains one of my favourite games. While there are new games being released all the time and no doubt many of them great, for me the appeal is in discovering the old out of print classics.
I really enjoy learning new rule systems and trying to play the game well. My likes range across genres and game types. Living in a small country town means the scope for face to face gaming - especially out of print is almost non-existent. In the past I focused on PBEM and got to try out plenty of games only some of which I owned a copy of.
