Peloton is a cycling game that can be played as either stage race or a single race. The number of players can be between 2 and 12. However, the game works optimally with 4-6 teams. Each contestant is a sporting director for his own team consisting of 4 racing cyclists. Each racing cyclist has different and unique abilities. General Classification riders (GC riders) are bit above average being good at time trials and stage races. Help riders are average riders, but an important support for the other types of riders helping them win. A small climber has his major strengths on an ascent. He drives easier uphill and sprints uphill than other types of riders. A heavy sprinter has his major strengths on descents and sprints. He sprints easier downhill or flat terrain than other types of riders. Each sporting director selects 2 racing cyclists for the race. Based on this choice the sport director plans the team's tactics for the race. With several competitions during the race, it will not be possible to win every competition. Each team will therefor have different rider combinations and agendas the achieve the best results. No rider combination is better than another. The objective of the game is to end up as the sports director with the best overall result and can be achieved in many ways. The winner is the sports director with the most competitions won.
