Version 6 is now the latest official module version. It conserves all the graphic updates from version 5 and now includes the South Pacific Map that is part of the game since the third printing. It's NOT compatible with previous modules versions 5 and older. You can create a new game under this module and move the counters and cards to reflect your current game situation and continue to play from there.
Major changes in version 6 (compared to 5) are highlighted in YELLOW in the Module User Guide available in the help menu. The following are major highlights:
- The game comes with two boards, Empire of the Sun and South Pacific. Empire of the Sun will work as usual. When the map loads you need to choose a game scenario from the tool bar button. Note that the module will tell you South Pacific is not a valid option for the Empire of the Sun map. If you pick South Pacific it will load the map and scenario automatically (since it's the only logical choice). If you try to select the other scenarios with this map it will tell you those are not valid choices for South Pacific.
- Now ALL units start in the separate forces window, not just reinforcements. The game now fully mimics the Allied and Japanese setup cards that come in the game. New spaces have been added for all at-start units.
- There are two new kinds of markers that mimic battle markers; Landing markers and Reinforcement markers. They behave exactly like the battle markers but are yellow and cyan respectively and serve to mark potential special reaction hexes (landings) and locations where reinforcements are appearing to make them obvious on the map. This applies to the upper left corner tags units have as well. You can assign them not just to battles anymore, also covering/escorting landings or marking them for reinforcements.
- Single step ground units are no longer given a reduced stripe if you toggle this cosmetic option in the menu; the reason for this is that these units are considered FULL strength units in a ground battle and hence can be chosen as forces to be removed in the presence of other full strength units first unlike air and naval units which are considered reduced units (in practical terms this means the VF-211 marine air unit and the CVL Hermes).
- Some markers on the map (Japanese Divisions, War in Europe and Political Will) have the option to add or subtract through the keypad plus/minus keys (+/-) in addition to using <CTRL + A> and <CTRL + S>.
- The Command Area shortcut for HQs has been changed to <SHIFT + C> rather than <CTRL + C>. This last hot key is now used to clear the corner tag in the upper left section if it's active. This is due to the fact that the corner can be used to signify participation in a battle, covering a landing or designated as a reinforcement or receiving replacements, so additional hot keys have been modified/changed for them.
- Replacing Yamamoto with Ozawa now has its own hot key <CTRL + O> just like replacing Ghormley with Halsey has one <CTRL + H>.
There's more but it gives players an idea of the major changes in this Module.

All version 6 module revisions are backwards compatible. Use the tools -> refresh command to make sure all pieces are properly updated (use referee role for this).
